Pierre-Laurent Aimard, the 2018 Edinburgh International Festival artist-in-residence, appears in three performances this August.
On August 20, Pierre-Laurent presents a solo recital of selections by Obukhov, Scriabin, Debussy, and Chopin, along with selections from Messiaen’s Catalogue D‘oiseaux. Stream his latest album on PENTATONE.
August 22 then sees Pierre-Laurent join forces with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and conductor Matthias Pintscher.
Together, they explore Messiaen’s Des Canyons aux Étoiles – the French composer’s tribute to the mystical and breathtaking natural marvels found in Utah.
Finally, he is joined by Tamara Stefanovich for Brahms’s Sonata for two Pianos and Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen on August 24.
