Pierre-Laurent Performs in China, Japan, and Russia


To conclude 2017, Pierre-Laurent performs in China, Japan, and Russia.

On November 30, Pierre-Laurent presents selections from Messiaen’s Catalogue d’Oiseaux and the Chopin Nocturnes, along with the Beethoven “Hammerklavier” Sonata at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. He then travels to Tokyo, where on December 2 & 3 he performs Ravel’s Left Hand Piano Concerto with the NHK Symphony Orchestra and Charles Dutoit. On December 6, Pierre-Laurent presents a solo recital at Tokyo Opera City on December 6 with Messiaen’s Vingt regards sur l’enfant-Jésus.

Finally, to close out 2017, Aimard returns to St. Petersburg’s Mariinsky Theatre. On December 28, he presents the complete Debussy Études, and on December 29 he reunites with the Mariinsky Orchestra and Valery Gergiev for Debussy’s Fantaisie for piano and orchestra and Ravel’s G major Piano Concerto.
