Tour with Chamber Orchestra of Europe
This March, Pierre-Laurent Aimard joins the Chamber Orchestra of Europe as conductor and soloist on tour in Germany, France, and Belgium.
On March 9, Pierre-Laurent and the ensemble appear at the Berlin Philharmonie. At the Kammermusiksaal, they celebrate the fifth anniversary of the death of Claudio Abbado, the former chief conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker. Pierre-Laurent leads in Elliott Carter’s Quintet for Piano and Wind Instruments and Epigrams for piano trio, anchored by Mozart’s Piano Concertos No. 15 & 25.
Pierre-Laurent and the orchestra also highlight the music of Carter and Mozart at Cologne’s Kölner Philarmonie (March 10) and Paris’s Cité de la Musique (March 11).
In Belgium, Pierre-Laurent and the orchestra join forces with conductor David Afkham. As part of the Klarafestival, they perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 15 in Brussels (March 14). The next day, they travel to Antwerp, where Pierre-Laurent performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 in C major.
