Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan

Pierre-Laurent Aimard returns to Asia in November for solo and orchestral appearances in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. On November 20 and 22, he joins the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Parvo Järvi for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, “Emperor” at Taiwan’s National Theatre and Concert Hall. These performances preclude an upcoming German tour with the orchestra in March 2017 under Matthias Pintscher. While in Asia, Aimard also appears with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony and Kazushi Ono on November 27 and 28, presenting Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in D Major.

A solo recital at Seoul’s LG Arts Center on November 24 features works by György Kurtág, Robert Schumann, and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, highlighting the musical connections between these composers, followed by selections by Olivier Messiaen, Louis-Claude Daquin, and Frederic Chopin.
