Belgium, Lithuania, and Germany

Pierre-Laurent Aimard joins Tamara Stefanovich for two performances in December, first reprising their interpretation of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Mantra for two pianos and electronics at Belgium’s De Singel on December 14 alongside Marco Stroppa in the role of sound director. The 1970 work is scored for two ring-modulated pianos (with ring modulators now replaced by iPads), crotales, wood block, and a recording of morse code.

On New Year’s Eve, Aimard and Stefanovich present Brahms’s Sonata for Two Pianos and Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen at Alpine retreat Schloss Elmau.

On December 16, Aimard presents works by J.S. Bach, Kurtág, Debussy, Boulez, and Julian Anderson in recital under the auspices of the GAIDA Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania.
