On September 12, Pierre-Laurent Aimard joins pianist Tamara Stefanovich in Berlin to showcase the works of Pierre Boulez, a composer with whom he has enjoyed a long and exceptionally rich personal and professional history. At the age of 19, at the composer-conductor’s invitation, Aimard became a founding member of Ensemble Intercontemporain, Boulez’s IRCAM-based chamber orchestra, and he played with the group for many years, participating in a number of major premieres.

The two pianists present Boulez’s complete works for solo piano as well as his Structures: Deuxieme Livre for two pianos. Aimard and Stefanovich previously toured this program to the United States and Europe during the 2014-15 concert season.
