Pierre-Laurent Aimard joins the Wiener Symphoniker for his final concerts as Artist-in-Residence, concluding a season-long Beethoven concerto cycle as part of a special collaboration between the Musikverein and Konzerthaus. With Chief Conductor Philippe Jordan on the podium, Aimard presents Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in Bb Major on Wednesday, May 11 and Friday, May 13. His performance is paired with a concert version of Bartók’s one-act opera Bluebeard’s Castle featuring Gábor Bretz and Violeta Urmana.
