Exploring Stockhausen’s Klavierstücke and More in Paris and Grenoble

Continuing his season-long focus on the piano works of Karlheinz Stockhausen, Aimard presents the Klavierstücke I – XI on January 29 at Paris’s Cité de la Musique, as well as Mantra with pianist Tamara Stefanovich and Marco Stroppa handling electronics. On January 27, he also presents a lesson examining the Klavierstücke through lecture and the performance of musical examples.

At the Maison de la culture de Grenoble the following week, Aimard presents a lecture-recital exploring the impact of architectural acoustics on composers throughout a range of historical periods, as part of a weekend of programming focusing on music and architecture. The February 2 event combines Stockhausen’s Klavierstück IX with works by Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Bartók, Boulez, and Stroppa.
