Performing for Harrison Parrott’s Virtual Circle
On December 17, Pierre-Laurent Aimard presents a program titled “Beethoven and the Avant-Garde” in his inaugural performance at Harrison Parrott’s Virtual Circle. Recorded for The Gilmore at the Teldex Studio in Berlin, Pierre-Laurent performs a fascinating program of works by Beethoven, Messiaen, and Stockhausen in this online concert. Additionally, the program will feature a world premiere of a piece by György Kurtág, which the composer gave to Pierre-Laurent in their most recent meeting. The repertoire spans centuries to deftly connect four brilliant composers who pushed the limits of sound, composition, and the piano itself to challenge the musical conventions of their time. Prior to the concert, Pierre-Laurent will provide a personal insight into his relationship with living composers. The concert will take place at 7:30pm GMT, CET, EST, and PST.
