This March, Pierre-Laurent travels to London, where he joins the Philharmonia Orchestra in a concert celebrating composer George Benjamin’s 60th birthday.
Benjamin guest conducts this performance, which features two of his compositions as well as pieces by Oliver Knussen, Messiaen, and Janá?ek. Pierre-Laurent performs Messiaen’s Le merle bleu from Catalogue d’oiseaux for solo piano before joining the orchestra in Benjamin’s Duet for piano and orchestra.
Other performers featured on this program include countertenor James Hall and the Philharmonia Voices.
