Pierre-Laurent Aimard has received a 2017 Gramophone Award in the Contemporary Category with conductor Sir George Benjamin and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, for his recording of Tristan Murail’s Le Désenchantement du monde on Musica Viva 22, released by NEOS in August 2016. The album also features the BRSO and Benjamin performing György Ligeti’s Lontano and Benjamin’s Palimpsests.

Musica Viva 22 continues a tradition — dating from 1945 in Germany — for one of the world’s foremost events for future-oriented and contemporary music.
