Continuing his season-long focus on the works of Stockhausen and Beethoven, Pierre-Laurent Aimard performs solo works by both composers at the Alte Oper Frankfurt on Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12 as part of evening programs presented by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony and Andrés Orozco-Estrada. On February 11, Aimard presents accounts of Stockhausen’s Klavierstück XI and Beethoven’s “Eroica” Variations, interspersed with performances by the orchestra of Beethoven’s Symphonies Nos. 1 and 3. On the following evening, his interpretations of Stockhausen’s Klavierstück IX and Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor, “Appassionata” are paired with Beethoven’s Symphonies Nos. 4 and 5.
